Everybody loves to eat fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden – or the farmers’ market if you don’t have a garden. The Middle Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center (MTREC) hosted the Fruits of the Backyard Field Day on June 11, 2019 in Spring Hill, Tennessee to give folks information and ideas about what to plant in their gardens. Session topics included nut trees that are native to Tennessee, cucumbers and vine crops for the backyard garden, and fruits, like elderberry, paw paw, and persimmon. In addition to educational sessions and displays, the event also held a plant sale.
