The June dressage show at Brownland Farm continues to grow, as competitors flock to Brownland’s beautiful and shady show grounds in Franklin, Tenn. Sponsored by the Central Tennessee Dressage Association, the Tennessean Express and Tennessean dressage shows on June 10-11 included 3 rings with rides from Introductory through Grand Prix. The back-to-back shows are recognized by the United States Dressage Federation. Many competitors use their scores to qualify for regional and potentially national dressage championships.
High score of the weekend went to Tami Crawford and Day of Glory, who earned a score of 80% on Saturday.
The winning Youth Team was Jordan Lockwood, Morgan-Bailey Horan and Allison Driver. Lockwood and Horan are expected to be selected to represent Region 3 at the North American Junior Young Rider Championship, which takes place in Saugerties, New York, in July.
The second place Youth Team was Caroline Caughron, Lauren Dillehay and Meghan Schluckbier. Third place Youth Team: Kierstin Szczepanski, Taylor Blasey, and Caitlyn Massey. Fourth place Youth Team: Meredith Denton, Laynie Rich, Elijah Price, and Mackenzie Snyder
The show also hosted candidates for the United States Dressage Federation “L” judging program. Candidates shadow judged the classes as part of their intensive preparation to become dressage judges. See photo of “L” candidates with USEF “S” judge Joan Darnell.
Many thanks to the volunteers from CTDA who make the show possible, including: CTDA president Nan Holland and volunteer coordinator Kathee Mepham. Mary Cokeing was show manager; Joe Coleman was technical delegate; and Peggy Gaboury was show secretary.
