In their first season of competition, the Memphis Youth Equestrian Team at Meadowthorpe Farm (MYET), IEA High School and Middle School teams coached by Ashlee Pigford and Leslie Gattuso, competed at the IEA Zone 4 Region 12 hunt seat show at the Jaeckle Centre, February 16, 2020.Coaches and team members were proud to qualify both their teams for regionals in their inaugural season. Their High School Team was one of only two teams in their region to qualify. They completed the year as Reserve Champion High School Team and Champion Middle School Team to advance to Zone Four Finals in mid March.
In addition, individual riders on the team also qualified for regionals: Clara Hickerson (High School Intermediate OF), Audrey Moll (JV Novice OF), Vivian Smith (JV Beginner WTC), and Mallory Phillips (Future Beginner WTC). Clara Hickerson and Audrey Moll both won their individual classes at this show to advance to Zone finals in their divisions. Clara Hickerson won the High Point Rider Award for the Season in the Varsity Intermediate OF division.
In their last regular season show at Providence Hill Farm in Jackson, MS, the MYET teams were Champion High School Team and Reserve Champion Middle School Team on day one. On day two, both teams were Champion.
