The 18th annual Bill Lipscomb Memorial Rodeo, Saturday February 26, 2022 at the Batesville Civic Center, Batesville, Miss. for two performances, 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The IPRA and SPRA sanctioned rodeo featured bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping and tie down roping. Stock was provided by MFJ Productions.
There were quality riders in each event. But, in particular, several successful barrel racers rode their horses in mild bits with no harsh tie downs.
The rodeo is named for the late rodeo enthusiast from Como, Miss. who died in 2002. He was a member of the International Rodeo Association. The performance began with a remembrance of him.
