EADS, TN – Sydney Caen, 24, of Eads, TN, will represent the state of Tennessee at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant, scheduled for Nov. 28 – Dec. 5, 2021 at the Southpoint Hotel, Casino and Spa in Las Vegas, NV.
As Miss Rodeo Tennessee 2021, Caen has been promoting the sport of rodeo within the state and other parts of the country since being crowned last March.
Representation includes travel to rodeos, schools, civic organizations, parades and related venues to promote specific events or traditional western values.
Caen can be seen interacting with the media, carrying the American flag and sponsor flags horseback during the rodeo, helping move cattle out of the rodeo arena, taking photos and signing autographs with rodeo fans and answering their rodeo questions.
She also works with event sponsors by making appearances at their facility, providing commentary for live remote broadcasts, helping with ticket giveaways and offering meet-and-greet sessions for their customers.
In addition to her work as a state titleholder, she has been preparing to compete in the national pageant for months by learning statistical data and history of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association as well as equine science, current events, horsemanship, personal interviewing, public speaking and modeling skills.
Simultaneously, she has been raising money to acquire the wardrobe, grooming and confidence-building travel skills needed to serve as a polished, prepared state rodeo queen.
All of Miss Rodeo Tennessee’s expenditures are made possible by sponsors, fundraisers and some personal funding. Donations are always welcomed.
Caen is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus of History and Political Science.
She is the daughter of Morris and Wendy Caen of Columbia, TN, and has a younger sister Reagan Caen and two younger brothers, Isaac and J.R.
Her future plans include earning a master’s degree and commissioning into the U.S. Army for Military Intelligence.
Caen enjoys traveling. She has visited Israel on multiple occasions and has become prolific in Hebrew and Arabic languages.
Additionally, the ladies of the Caen household operate a tack and western clothing design business called Zion Tack.
Designing purses, belts, halters, spur straps, shirts and vests are some of their specialties.
Her rodeo experience includes competing on the Kentucky High School Rodeo team, and in college, she also competed on the OSU rodeo team.
Her rodeo events are barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying and breakaway roping.
The Caen family and the Miss Rodeo Tennessee Association has scheduled a Trunk Showing and Send-off Party for Miss Rodeo Tennessee 2021 on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 at 3 pm at Carahills Estate, located at 13880 Highway 196, Eads, TN.
