Johnny Johnson and his Jx2 Productions brought team roping competition to the Show Place Arena in Memphis, TN on November 21-22, 2002. The show featured NTRL National Shootouts, the Big Dawg 7-steer with 12.5 Incentive, WSTR Qualifiers, with cash payouts and saddles to first and second placers in 8.5 roping.
The Shelby County Health Department’s requirements for mask wearing and physical distancing were still in effect for the Show Place Arena. But the majority of people in the indoor arena were not doing either. Shelby County has recently seen a surge in COVID-19 cases, and more deaths.

The #8.5 Saddle Roping Winners were: Average: Drew Phillips/ Matthew Logan. Second: Brittney Steed/Walsh Nelson.
The #6 Prize Roping Winners, each receiving a Gist buckle, were: Average: Latham Brister/ Landon Brister. Second: Hadley Thone/ Ryan Hollingsworth.
The #9 WSTR winners were Cade Wilson/Casey Martin. The #9 NTRL winners were Mike Batterton/Tom Bridges.
