The annual Halloween Chuckwagon Races were held at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch at Hurricane Mills, Tenn. October 20-25, 2020. Other events over the weekend included Team Sorting, Ranch Rodeo, Pasture Roping, an Extreme Cowgirl Up contest, and a tack sale, as well as plenty of Halloween costumes. The weekend’s concert entertainment featured Theron Gean & The Cowboys, with guest Layne Smith, on Saturday Oct. 24. Approximately 65 teams signed up for the weekend’s races. It rained or drizzled on and off all day Saturday, which made for some very wet and muddy conditions. You might say they “got a little mud on the tires.” One wagon completely lost a wheel. Gary Cox went to the races on Saturday and captured some of the action.
