Named in memory of hunter/jumper rider and trainer David Q. Wright, the $5,000 Germantown Hunter Classic followed the Pony Hunter classic at Friday evening’s performance of the Germantown Charity Horse Show, June 10, 2016. The class is judged on performance and soundness, with manners emphasized, and is to be scored under the open numerical judging system. The top fifteen scores from the first round returned to jump a second round of approximately 10-12 fences with a posted order of low fences to higher fences on Friday evening.

This year’s winner was Coronado, ridden by Ashley Hotz. Second place went to last year’s winner, White Lightning, ridden by Sarah Young. Third was Madelyn Porter riding Dragonfly’s Acerado. Ashley Hotz also captured fourth place on More Optimistic. And Madelyn Porter claimed fifth on Dragonfly’s Encore.
