The Mississippi Quarter Horse Association (MQHA) hosted its annual Summer Circuit Shows June 1-2, 2019 at the Kirk Fordice Equine Center in Jackson, MS. There was something for everyone.  There were the normal all-around classes, which include Western Pleasure, Halter, Showmanship, Trail, Reining, Ranch Riding, Horsemanship, Hunter under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation, Barrels, poles, and stakes. They also hosted their last set of National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) classes for the year.  As an Affiliate Member of NRHA, the Mississippi Quarter Horse Association has held three slates of NRHA classes, from which successful exhibitors could qualify for Affiliate Regional Championship Show (ARC).  NRHA Open Reining and Open Non-Pro Reining offered $250 added prize money. There were several other NRHA Jackpot classes, too.

The Summer Show Circuit also held cattle classes, with roping, heading, heeling, and boxing classes.  All classes were well attended with several points to be earned.

The most watched class of the entire show series was our Lead Line class.  Exhibitors ages 6 and under displayed their riding skills to the judges and the spectators.

Judges for the AQHA portion of the show were: Jon Barry, Brad Gibby, Michael Ochetto, and John Tuckey. NRHA judge was John Tuckey. The show offered a flat fee of $225 for AQHA classes, stall, and fees.
