Mid-South Dressage Academy (MDA) in Hernando, Miss. hosted the Memphis in Springtime USDF show over the Kentucky Derby weekend, May 4-5, 2019. Twenty-one riders brought their horses to show in the weekend’s classes.
High Point Riders were:
FEI: Jody Wilson and Bentley GCF, scoring 62.059%
Amateur Adult: Jenny Van De Loo and Duke of the Dawn, scoring 68.375%
Open: Jamie Lawrence and Silas, scoring 70.417%
Jr./Young Rider: Aislin Falasco, riding Unscripted, scoring 67.500%
Following is a sampling of winners at the show:
Adult Amateur Fourth Level Test 1: Ann Tursky with Sonnenschein Roa, scoring 64.872% and 67.436%.
Natasja Massey scored 62.725% and 63.875% on Windsor (KWPN) to win the USEF/FEI Freestyle Test of Choice, riding the FEI Freestyle, Grand Prix 2017.
Jenny Van De Loo won the Adult Amateur Third Level Test 3 with her mare Fair Gold Hm (KWPN) on scores of 65.500% and 68.750%. Van De Loo high point rider with her pony The Duke of Dawn, scoring 65.750% and 68.375% in AA Third Level Test 3
Kara Watkins rode Rosehill Alwaysalady to first in Adult Amateur First Level Test 3, scoring 65.833%. The pair also won the AA First Level Test 2 on a score of 63.714%.
Marikay Asbery and Facetime (WEST) scored 70.192% and 63.103% in AA Training Level Test I for first place in both classes on Saturday.
Sarah Baggette and Fliegan (OLD) won the AA Second Level Test I on scores of 67.172% and 67.838%, as well as first in Second Level Test 3, scoring 66.548%.
Hayley Baker rode Elizabeth Clifton’s Jazmina SMDR to top places in the Jr/YR First Level tests with 60.571% in Test 2, 63.621% and 64.828% in Test 3. She rode Maleigh Cook’s MDL Halo Noir to first place in Training Level Test 3 (63.793% & 64.483%).
Tami Crawford did well on her Andalusian Especial Lm in Fourth Level Test 1, scoring 63.974% and 64.359%.

Things heated up in Hernando for this month’s Summer Solstice USDF show at MDA, June 22-23, followed by the What Not To Wear schooling show on Sunday, June 30.
