Jx2 Productions brought its Muddy River Classic back to the Show Place Arena in Memphis, Tenn. on February 8-10, 2019. The event offered seven USTRC qualifiers in #s 9.5 to 16.5. There were three WSTR divisions: #13.5, #11.5, and #8.5.
On February 12, Johnny Johnson summarized the event: “We wrapped up our Muddy River Classic, a USTRC/WSTR combo event in Memphis, TN. We could not have asked for a better event! Cody Warner brought an outstanding set of cattle that suited each roping perfectly! Each day we had a combo of USTRC and WSTR events, which ropers seemed to really like. We paid out $135,000 in cash and $10,000 in prizes.
“All I have had on my mind the last two days is Wyatt Cole and his family and friends. I can’t tell you how heavy my heart is for them. …Seeing all the posts, pictures, and kind words being said about Wyatt truly is a testament to what an outstanding young man he was. He will be greatly missed. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out for Wyatt’s family and all of his friends.”
Johnny added this quote after his post: “Wherever a beautiful soul has been there is a trail of beautiful memories.”

Jx2 Productions is back in the mid-south March 8-10 for the “Big Ticket” in Tunica, Miss. and then on to Franklin, Tenn. for the Tennessee Championships March 15-17. They return to Tunica, Miss. April 26-28 for the NTRL/World Series.
