Tennessee High School Rodeo (TNHSR) finished their fall season with two rodeos in November: November 3-4, 2018 in Fayette, Alabama and November 17-18 in Cleveland, Tennessee as a joint rodeo with Georgia. The November 3-4 rodeo was produced by Sheldon Isom and his wife Kandace. The Nov. 17-18 rodeo was produced by Travis Presley.
At the November 3rd rodeo in Fayette, Caroline Crawford of Lambert, MS and Caroline German of Germantown, TN had the two best times in Barrel Racing, taking first and second place: 16.192 and 16.265, respectively.
In Breakaway Roping, Bethany Stallons of Hopkinsville, KY had, by far, the best time (2.600) for first place.
Two cowboys had very good scores in Bull Riding. Dustin Douglas, of Limestone, TN scored 73.0 for first and Sage Isom of Hodges, TN scored 69.0 for second.
In Calf Roping, the top two scores were just a tenth second apart. Cole Walker of Sparta, TN scored a time of 12.210 and Jesse Keysaer of Culleoka, TN scored a time of 12.310.
In Goat Tying, Blaize Deere of Scotts Hill, TN blazed a fast time of 9.960 for first, with Abby Shultz of Orlinda, TN tying her goat in 10.020 seconds for second.
In Pole Bending, Cody Dowell of Olive Branch, MS ran the slalom pattern in 20.885 seconds for first. Blaize Deere was just two seconds behind with a time of 22.003 in second.
In Steer Wrestling, Jesse Keysaer had the fastest time of 5.480 seconds. Cole Walker posted second place in 6.650 seconds.
Header Jesse Keysaer was back to take first in Team Roping along with Heeler Zane White of Scotts Hill, TN, posting a blazing fast time of 7.730 seconds.
At the November 4th rodeo in Fayette, Lauren Morris of Bells, TN rode to first place in Barrel Racing with a time of 15.892. Janis Osbrink of Madisonville, TN was second with a time of 16.123.
In Breakaway Roping, it was Bethany Stallons again in first with a time of 2.790. Cody Dowell of Olive Branch placed second with a time of 2.920.
In Bull Riding, only one cowboy scored – and score big he did! Daniel Carter of Bells, TN rode the bull for 70.0 points.
In Calf Roping, Blayne Saine of Detroit, AL led with a time of 10.180. Cole Walker of Sparta was not too far behind in second with a time of 10.950.
At this rodeo Emma Kate Wilder of Millington, TN had the fastest time in Goat Tying: 7.930. Blaize Deere posted second with a time of 9.430.
In Pole Bending, Cody Dowell of Olive Branch, MS was, again, at the top of the leaderboard with a time of 20.914. Janis Osbrink posted a time of 20.953 for second.
Cole Walker of Sparta was the only cowboy to score in Steer Wrestling, bringing down his steer in 5.380 seconds.
In Team Roping, Header Bethany Stallons and Heeler Blayne Saine had the fastest times for first: 8.770.
At the Cleveland, TN rodeo, Caroline Crawford led the field in Barrel Racing with a time of 15.155 on November 17th and a time of 15.093 on November 18th.
Bethany Stallons had the best time in Breakaway Roping on November 17th: 2.580, but Blaize Deere had the top spot on November 18th with a time of 3.060.
Bryson Tays was at the top of the leaderboard in Calf Roping with a time of 10.340 on November 17th and 9.740 on November 18th.
Blaize Deere had the best time in Goat Tying on November 17th: 9.250. But Emma Kate Wilder had a faster time on November 18th: 7.220.
Kyla Matthews won Pole Bending with a time of 20.645 on November 17th and 20.827 on November 18th.
Jesse Keysaer led the field in Steer Wrestling with a time of 8.100 on November 17th.
On November 17th the top two in Team Roping were Zane White (heeler) and Jesse Keysaer (header), both with times of 7.890. On November 18th, it was Lane Webb (header) and Bryson Tays (heeler), both with times of 12.590.

Teens from all over Tennessee, as well as some from Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, and a couple from Georgia, are members of TNHSR. State Secretary Joe Gibson said that there is an even split of members on either side of I-65, so the organization truly covers the entire state of Tennessee.
TNHSR events are for contestants in the 9th through 12th grade. Students can join and compete whether they go to a public, private high school, or are home schooled. Girls compete in barrels, pole bending, breakaway roping, team roping and goat tying. Guys compete in bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc, team roping, tie-down calf roping, and steer wrestling. The top 10 in each event earn points, which accumulate throughout the season to qualify for the National High School Finals Rodeo in July.
Tennessee High School Rodeo will be back in action in February (16-17), 2019 in Scottsville, Kentucky. They will be in Memphis, Tennessee at the Show Place Arena March 9-10, 2019.
