Seven UT Martin Rodeo Members Earn 2017 NIRA Scholar American Honors

Walla Walla, Wash. – Seven representatives of the University of Tennessee at Martin rodeo squad have been spotlighted as National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association 2017 Scholar American recipients.

Casey Allen, Madison Crow, Megan Crow, Ethan Foster, Brandi Pittman, Raegan Taylor and Kenzley Wilson each picked up the academic accolade. The honor is bestowed on NIRA members who have earned points at a 2016-17 NIRA sanctioned rodeo, been in college for more than one term, earned at least a 3.5 cumulative Grade Point Average, and have been nominated by their head coach. All in all, 184 cowboys and cowgirls were recognized on the prestigious list.

Allen is currently a sophomore from Vandergrift, Pa. and has earned a cumulative 3.59 GPA, majoring in marketing.

Madison Crow was a senior in 2016-17, as the Kingston Springs, Tenn. native posted a 3.91 cumulative GPA and majored in business administration.

Also hailing from Kingston Springs, Tenn., Megan Crow majored in business administration while accounting for a 3.98 GPA after her senior season in 2016-17.

Foster is in the midst of his junior season, as the Williamsport, Tenn. native has tallied a 3.63 cumulative GPA, majoring in agricultural engineering and technology.

A Bogalusa, La. native, Pittman is currently a senior majoring in pre-veterinary medicine – generating a cumulative 3.69 GPA.

Taylor is in her junior year, as the Camden, Tenn. native boasts a 3.84 cumulative GPA, majoring in health and human performance.

Wilson hails from Black Oak, Ark. and is responsible for a 3.91 cumulative GPA as a senior exercise science major.
