The Jaeckle Centre, in Thompsons Station, Tenn., held their Snowflake I schooling show the weekend of January 20-22, 2017. This horse show brought in competitors not only from Tennessee, but also from Kentucky, Alabama and Missouri. Good weather, along with word getting out about the quality of the show, brought out strong attendance for this winter show. Consequently, their stalls were at full capacity for this first January show.

With 168 entries in the classes, the show was quite a success! By far the largest class was Beginner Jumper, with 36 entries. Whitney Massengale and her Dusty Doc Blackburn were Champions, with Christin Davis and Two M Blantonberry Reserve. Hopeful Jumper attracted 17 entries, with Meredith Pettey and her Charlee Brown as Champions. There was a tie for Reserve with Ava Lindley and L’Hampton (Jaeckle Centre owner) and Ceynor Johnson, owner, riding Salvador Dolly.

For a schooling show, the Jaeckle Centre’s indoor arena’s jumps were well decorated with brush and flowers to give the attractive look of a bigger show. Michelle Zimmer, Director of Training and Conditioning, explained how these shows help riders transition more easily to the recognized Brownland and Class A shows. They strive to help set up the competitors for success!

Some other show Champions were:

Children’s Pony Hunter: Abby George riding Entourage (Yandell Family Farm owner)
Green Working Hunter 3’ & 3’3”: Matthew Piccolo riding Jungle Book (Ben Lyles owner)
Jr./Amateur Hunter: Stephanie Hardy, owner, riding Volante
Long Stirrup Hunter Champions: Morgan Trotter riding Arkadios (Peppy Butler owner)
S-M-L Pony Hunter: Abby George riding Trip (Jaeckle Centre owner)
Pre Children’s/Adult Hunter: Sydney Mannon, owner, riding Icing on the cake
Short Stirrup Hunter: Gabel Gawthorpe, owner, riding Brownlands Know It All
Special Hunter 3’: Entourage, ridden by Lauren Patterson

For those just getting started in the horse show world, the show offered Ground Poles Equitation – Alison Cannon and Call My Bluff Champions, and Walk Trot Equitation – Sophia Waaler riding Kit Kat (Trish Franks, owner) as Champion.
Franklin Horse Supply generously provided $10 Gift Certificates for each class winner.
