Sonny and Carla Gould of Gould Arena and Daniel and Dana Bishop of Blues City Warmbloods have partnered to bring something a little different to equine enthusiasts. Throughout the year they will be offering Trail/Horse challenges, as well as practices.

Their first Challenge was held on November 26, 2016 at the Gould Arena in Moscow, TN. There were over 12 obstacles, including a bridge, teeter-totter, water obstacles, tire-drags and, appropriately, roping with a mechanical steer, and more.

They offered a variety of classes: In-hand, Open, age group classes, Extreme, Timed classes and Fun classes in a natural type environment. The participants were very complementary of the inaugural event and have asked for the events to continue.

“It was a huge hit!” said Bishop. “This is a great opportunity to get your horse out and get them acclimated to different surroundings and obstacles in a wonderful indoor arena with other equine enthusiasts! Plus, it really helps with personal horsemanship skills and gaining trust with your horse. This is something that any age horse can do. And you don’t necessarily have to ride these obstacles; they can all be done in-hand. This is something a little different that you can do with your horse, regardless of what discipline you ride or what kind of horse you bring. There was lots of fellowship and good food, too!”

The next event at the Gould Arena will be a Trail Challenge practice on December 18, from 1-5 pm. For more information, contact Carla Gould at (901) 212-7031 or Dana Bishop at (901) 331-3500.
