Once again the clock was ticking to record the fast times running through the Show Place Arena, Memphis, TN, at the Dynamite Barrel Race, September 18-20, 2015. Jamie White and his crew put together another jam packed event that ran from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon. Not only were there plenty of contestants, there were also opportunities buy all sorts of tack, clothing – and even a new barrel racing saddle – from the vendors present.

Megan Jamerson and Deep Laughing, of Murray, Kentucky, were the 1D winners on Friday with a blazing time of 14.814. Katie Brown and Red Makers Flit, of Waverly, Tennessee, were the 2D winners. Ashley Pilgrim and Bound to Be Dirty, from Southaven, Mississippi, were the 3D winners. Jordan Rice, riding Smooth Jet Two Bar, of Cordova, Tennessee, rounded out the winners, taking the 4D prize.

Saturday’s rounds featured the 12 and under set. Savannah Shumpert of Mooresville, Mississippi rode A Frosted Pinky to win 1D in 16.072 seconds. Hayley Hart, of West Helena, Arkansas, and Sugar Ray won the 2D. Natalie King, of Byhalia, Mississipi, and Bandit took the 3D prize, and Lexi Henderson of Arlington, Tennessee and Shining Medallion rounded out the winners as tops in 4D.

Saturday’s Youth winners were: Jaylie Matthews, of Wynne, Arkansas, and Firewater Pistol won the 1D with a time of 15.073, but sister Taycie Matthews, on Guys Streakin Angel, was close behind with a time of 15.116 seconds. For the 2D, it was Mackenzie Johnson of Medina, Tennessee, with GoGo Gidget in 16.100 seconds. Jordan Deatherage of Atoka, Tennessee and Faith were first in 3D.

For the serious adults, John Michael Poss, of Gallatin, Tennessee, and KK Frenchy Toy took the Open 1D win, and the Adult Sidepot, in 14.982 seconds. Nealy Dalton, of Adamsville, Tennessee, and PC Chickie Frost had the best time to win Open 2D. Rowdy Childress, of Covington, Tennessee, and Timeless Indian were fastest for the Open 3D win, and won the 2D Adult Sidepot in 15.982 seconds. Katie Rae Franks, of Marion, Arkansas, rode Frosty Spring Girl for the Open 4D win. Jessica Lanier of New Johnsonville, Tennessee, riding Easy Corona Lady, took top prize in the 3D Adult Sidepot.

On Sunday, Megan Jamerson and Deep Laughing were back again for the 1D win with a time of 14.780. John Michael Poss and KK Frenchy Toy bested his previous time in 14.816 seconds, but that put him in second in the Open 1D. Katie Brown and Red Makers Flit were back, taking the 2D win again in 15.305 seconds. Daylee Barrom, of Millington, Tennessee, and Doc were first in the Open 3D (15.874). Sherri Surman, of Senatobia, Mississippi and Goose won Open 4D (16.781).
