Oakview Stablesnear Olive Branch, Mississippi was the venue for the Longreen Schooling show on August 4. While the weather was what can be expected for August, hot and steamy, it was a sucessful show and an overall fun weekend! Local schooling shows allow horses and riders, especially green horses and riders, to log valuable show miles and lots of smiles!
The schooling show was a benefitfund-raiser for the Longreen Foxhounds. Members of Longreen contributed used tack donations, which comprised a “consignment store” on the grounds, with all sales benefitting the Longreen Foxhounds. The store was well stocked with bridles, boots, and coolers. There were caps and coffee cups with the Longreen logo. Tack items were bargain priced and quite a few people came away from the tent with a smile and a bargain.
The show used two arenas, one for beginners and the other for more advanced classes. Cross entries between rings was not allowed. Oak View Stables and Longreen Foxhounds personel ran the show in a very effecient manner.
The Longreen Foxhound schooling show was part of the Megford schooling show series. Points earned at this show count towards the year-end point totalfor awards.
