Highlights: Horses of the Germantown Charity Horse Show June 8-12 in Germantown, TN Sarah Patterson’s Rubens Z, ridden by Andy Kocher, was the winner of the $25,000 Grand Prix of Germantown on Saturday night, over 24 other entries. The course was so difficult that there was no jump off and one rider made an “unplanned dismount.” Thursday night’s Gambler’s Choice showed off the riders’ math skills and course planning abilities, as they tried to jump the obstacles with the most points to gain the highest scores within the time limit. Christian Heineking on NKH Barbarosa won the class. Russell Frey won the Germantown Hunter Classic on Greg Burrow’s Vince. Madison Harwood was the winner of the Washington International Classic Jumper Phase. Michael Kocher won the Washington International Equitation Classic Hunter Phase. Leah Curtiss won the Washington International Equitation Classic Overall. Courtney Poist won the National Children’s Medal, and Caroline Gillen won the USEF Hunter Seat Medal. Sarah Clifton Yandell was tops in the USEF Pony Medal. Sydney Glazer won the ASPCA Horsemanship class. Bud Moore’s On the Line, ridden by Suzanne Moore, took the Walking Horse Amateur Championship. The $5,000 Paul Raines Five Gaited Champion was It’s Double O’Deuce, ridden by Steve Chadick, owned by SGF Winning Ways Farm. Hackney Pony Champion was Golden Creek Farm’s Limited Edition, driven by Abel Vega. Vega also drove Stephany Monteleone’s Regal’s Norma Jean LF to the Harness Pony Championship. The ASB Fine Harness Championship went to Creekridge Farm’s Lovin Lass, ridden by Anne Neil. Anne Neill also won the Jessica Crouch Memorial Three Gaited Stake on The Norseman, owned by Pidgeon Roost Farm. The Rachel Smith Memorial Costume Event is a fun class that evokes creativity in themes and costumes. The “Pope Mobile” earned the “Most Humorous” prize. Yoo Hoo’s Garden was the “Most Beautiful.” Hunters Edge Stable’s entry “The Bachelor TV Show” took the “Most Original” award. And “Salute to those who protect and serve” gained the “Most Authentic” award. All entries in the Lead Line class walked away with blue ribbons, as the judge’s “cute meter” pegged!
