Using Height To Advantage With Bull Riding Jon Roberts Being six feet four inches plus sometimes is a real disadvantage for riding bulls. But when it comes to fighting bulls, Jon Roberts uses his height to his advantage by being able to reach over a bull's neck and untie a hung up cowboy. Jon is a senior at Dyer County High School and graduated with honors this year. He plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin this fall and to rodeo under Coach John Luthy. He competed in the Tennessee High School Rodeo Finals June 11-13 at the Show Place Arena in Memphis, TN. He placed third for the year in Bull Riding and will make his fourth trip to the National High School Rodeo Finals July 19-25 in Farmington, NM. When he returns home from the Finals, he will ride for several rodeo contractors before starting college in the fall. He received a partial rodeo scholarship to UT Martin.
