The Tennessee Paint Horse Club held their last show of 2021 show season October 9-10 at the Tri-State Exhibition Center in Cleveland, Tennessee. We were happy to get back to regularly scheduled shows this year, and greatly appreciate all those who chose to show with us. We invite all of you to join the club and help us make it grow.
Membership makes you eligible for circuit awards at each weekend show and for year end awards. Our youth club invites kids to join the fun and to experience the pride and confidence that comes from building a winning relationship with a horse. Showing horses promotes responsibility, goal setting, and good sportsmanship.
TPHC is a family oriented group dedicated to promoting the American Paint Horse breed and the participation of horse lovers of all ages and various disciplines. We offer a full slate of APHA approved classes as well as All Breed classes open to all stock breeds. These classes follow the descriptions of the APHA approved classes. It’s a great opportunity to get a young horse or new exhibitor into the show pen and get those much needed miles to become successful in your respective breed shows.
We offer classes for all ages and all skill levels. There are youth classes for lead liners, walk/trot exhibitors through age 19, and novice and youth classes for those that lope. This additional year of youth eligibility was approved by APHA when a whole season was lost due to the COVID pandemic.
Adult exhibitors may choose to hold a walk/trot membership or a novice amateur membership, which calls for loping in the riding classes. The walk/trot division allows a comfortable place to begin your show experience or for rider and/or horse to gain confidence.
We have in-hand classes for yearlings and two year olds for those who enjoy building a show horse from scratch. It can be very satisfying to bring out the potential of those youngsters.
We will soon be preparing the club to move forward into 2022, and membership in TPHC gives you the opportunity to cast your vote in shaping the future of the club. We will hold our general membership meeting on November 20, when we will elect officers and board members for the next year. The location will be determined and announced on our Facebook page. Our show planning meeting will be held on December 4 to work out details of the new show schedule. All members are invited to attend both meetings and all who want to become members are welcome.
If you have questions or seek information, we have an Official Tennessee Paint Horse Club Facebook page and a Tennessee Paint Horse Club web site. You will find contact information there if you have further questions. We are always happy to provide information and answer questions.
