Nashoba Carriage Association put on its first Driving Derby of 2021 on April 17-18 at Kimberlin Farms in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The event offered a Driving Derby on Saturday and a Cones course on Sunday, along with Pleasure Drive. Ten drivers participated in the derby/cones courses and eleven drivers with four riders enjoyed the pleasure drive. Sunday’s Pleasure “Escapade” was held in a gated obstacle course in Sleepy Hollow (Ann Kimberlin’s favorite orchard). Drivers could decide to take either the short course or long course, and then finish with a Barrel Pattern – all taking place across beautiful fields.

Nashoba had four new minis (belonging to two families) join the organization. “We are excited about the new drivers with minis!” commented Brooke Ballenger.

Next on Nashoba’s agenda is a Play Day on May 23, 2021. Members will be able to practice for driving events at the Germantown Charity Horse Show with a cones course, practice ring classes and a drive through Morgan Woods.

The organization’s annual Nashoba Carriage Classic will be September 17-19, 2021 at the GCHS Arena in Germantown, Tennessee, offering both driving and sidesaddle classes. Ruthie Braves will be the show judge.
