Grand Junction, Tenn. — The 40th running of the National Amateur All-Age Invitational Championship was held at Ames Plantation, Grand Junction, Tenn. December 7-9, 2020.

The National Amateur Invitational invites the top 12 Amateur dogs in the nation to compete in one-hour braces. This year, the top 11 were able to come. One dog got sick and had to scratch, so the 13th top dog was invited to round out two dogs to a brace. All 12 dogs ran the first two days, six in morning braces and six in afternoon braces. On the second day, the dogs ran in reverse order from the first day and with a different brace-mate. On the third day, the best four dogs are called back and ran in two braces. From that, the champion and runner-up were chosen.

This year’s winner was Hendrix’s Touch Up, three-year-old white and orange pointer male owned by Guy and Burke Hendrix of Hernando, Miss., and handled by Burke Hendrix.

Runner-up was Mohawk Mill Trail Warrior, three-year-old white, liver and ticked pointer male, owned and handled by Gary Winall of Powhatan, Va.

In addition the winners, also called back for the third day finals were Dialed In, handled by Matt Pendergest of Lexington, Ky., and Touch's Indiana Joan, Keith Wright, Covington, Ind. On standby were Small’s White Stryker, Mike Small, Evansville, Ind., and Touch’s Grey Street, Keith Wright. All were run.

Judges were Greg Bain of Town Creek, Ala., and Joe Hughes of Remlap, Ala.
