The Tennessee Youth Rodeo Association held its first rodeo of 2020 at the Coyote Run Arena in Mason, TN on February 15, 2020, with performances at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. This was a regular TYRA and a Cinch Rodeo. Events included Steer Bareback Riding, Steer Saddle Bronc, Girls Breakaway, Boys Breakaway, Barrel Racing, Chute Dogging, Pole Bending, and Team Roping.
Some of the steers in the Steer Saddle Bronc were not very cooperative, trying to lie down rather than get out and buck. One little cowboy was slightly injured as he fell; EMTs were called, but then it was decided they were not needed as he was able to get up on his own. Fort Robbins scored a 59 (AM) and Hudson Bolton scored a 45 (PM) for the top placements.
In Steer Bareback Riding, Owen Prince had the top score in both performances, 66 (AM) and 76 (PM).
In the Chute Dogging, some of the cowboys were so small that two grown men had to help them bring down the steer. Daniel Wilder had the top score in both performances: 2.99 (AM) and 2.93 (PM).
In Girls Breakaway, Brently Dowdy was the top scorer: 2.39 (AM) and 4.87 (PM).
In Boys Breakaway, Sam White had the top score of 3.18 (AM) and Fort Robbins, in the PM with 2.67.
In Barrel Racing, Avery Wilburn was fastest with 14.409 (AM) and Roany Clendenin in the PM with 14.400.
In Pole Bending, Avery Wilburn had the top AM score: 21.250 and Miranda Pewterbaugh had the top PM score: 22.652.
