Tennessee Youth Rodeo finals were held May 11-12, 2019 at UT Martin in Martin, Tenn. This was their general year-end rodeo for kindergarten – eighth grade students. Scores from this rodeo had not been posted by press time.
As of May 5, 2019, leading the way for All-Around Cowboy was Dylan Thomson with 304 points. He participates in boys Breakaway, Chutedogging, Team Roping, and Boys Goat Tying.
Leading the way for All-Around Cowgirl was Anna Wilder with 356 points. She participates in Girls Breakaway, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Team Roping, and Girls Goat Tying.
The TYRA Cinch Finals were held April 27 at the Triple P Arena in Decaturville, TN. The Cinch division is for 6th – 8th graders and the top four performers from each event can compete at the National Junior High Finals Rodeo. The NJHFR was hosted in Lebanon, TN in 2016-2017, and then moved to Huron, SD for 2018-2019. The rodeo moves to Des Moines, IA for 2020-2021.
