On April 9, 2019 the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) Stock Horse Team traveled to Sweetwater, Texas to compete at the American Stock Horse Association Collegiate and National Show. Nine MTSU students and horses competed collegiately and nationally under the guidance of MTSU faculty, Andrea Rego. Students competed in cow horse, pleasure, reining and trail events. The raiders won the title of Division II National Champion Team.This is MTSU’s second national championship title since 2016.
Individual National Show Results:
Jenna Seal, a senior from Meridian, MS was the Limited Non-Pro Champion riding Catsafire.
Patricia Wingate, a junior from Hazelpark, MI was third overall in Limited Non-Pro riding IzzieTronado.
Hunter Huddleston, a freshman from Franklin, TN was Youth Champion riding My Favorite Remedy.
Taylor Meek,a freshman from Murfreesboro, TN was Youth Reserve Champion riding DunnitsSmokin.
Kylie Small, a senior from Dallas, GA was Novice Reserve Champion riding BC Pennys from Tari.
Mary Catherine Wade, a junior from Germantown, TN was fourth overall in Novice riding Hay Now Sunshine.
Caroline Blackstone, a junior from Douglasville, GA was sixth overall in Novice riding Shakers Cowgal.
Jennifer Dowd, a senior from Unionville, TN was eighth overall in Novice riding LC Jack Handcock 101.
