Jackson, MS. – Preparations underway for the Dixie National Equestrians with Disabilities Show scheduled for February 5-6, 2019 at the Kirk Fordice Equine Center in Jackson, MS. Plans are for this show, its21st year, to be bigger and better than ever, with free entry fees and no stall fees for exhibitors. All fees are paid by the Mississippi Quarter Horse Youth Association. Four judges are donating their services for the event. Others donating their services include the show coordinator, announcers, show secretary and many volunteers that it takes to put on a horse show event.

The show will offer four sets of AQHA points, four sets of NSBA points, and four sets of PHBA points. The composite winner in each class will be awarded the coveted Dixie National Jacket. This will be a great deal for equestrians from around the country to come and join in a competitive, yet friendly, environment.

New this year is the NRHA Para Reining, to be held during the Dixie National Quarter Horse Show on Thursday February 14, 2019 – thanks to sponsorship by Brushy Creek Ranch.

Bailey Carwile, President of the Mississippi Quarter Horse Youth Association says, “The Dixie National Equestrian’s With Disabilities Show is one of my favorite MQHA/MQHYA projects. I have been involved with it for the past several years, and it’s something I look forward to every year. There’s just something about seeing the riders’ faces light up with pure joy when they hear their name called and they receive their ribbon that just touches you. They are extremely excited about the show, and they are truly appreciative of all the effort that is put into making this event happen. Their excitement just makes us want to do it that much more. It is awe-inspiring to watch how hard they try when they’re riding, and it makes you appreciate just how easy we have it. With the 2019 Dixie National EWD Show approaching, I encourage anyone eligible to make plans to compete, and anyone who can to volunteer, to come and help with the show. All are sure to be blessed! Good Luck and safe travels to and from the show. See y’all there!”
