Thoroughbred Makeover: Day 1 Results

About 440 off-track Thoroughbreds competed at the 2018 Thoroughbred Makeover, presented by Thoroughbred Charities of America. Competition got underway Friday, October 5, 2018  in seven of the 10 divisions: Barrel Racing, Dressage, Eventing, Polo, Show Hunters, Show Jumpers and Ranch Work.

Three divisions are complete, and the top five will return on Saturday to compete in the Makeover Finale.

Barrel Racing
1. Miss Classy, a 2013 mare (Old Fashioned—Annika Rules, Seeking The Gold) bred in New York by Taylor Brothers Properties & Dr. William Hovis, ridden by Jade Wirick, a junior from Windber, Pennsylvania.
2. Metro Maggie, a 2013 mare (Awesome of Course—She's a Sweetiepie, Cimarron Secret) bred in Minnesota by David O. Hansen, ridden by Katelin Bradley, an amateur from Antigo, Wisconsin.
3. Little Red Rodeo, 2012 mare (Textbook—I'm A Stinker, To Freedom) bred in Pennsylvania by Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Ray Moyer, ridden by Megan Montgomery, a junior from Egg Harbor, New Jersey.
4. Inherently, 2009 mare (Dehere—Zia Philomena, Coronado's Quest) bred in Kentucky by E. Mercaldo, R. Mercaldo, & J. Perrotta, ridden by Amanda Miller, an amateur from Strasburg, Ohio.
5. Alls I'm Saying, 2010 gelding (Taste of Paradise—Miss Imagination, Halo's Image) bred in Kentucky by Thomas J. Young, ridden by Caitlyn Graham, a professional from Carey, Ohio.

Polo
1. Tanyas Pride, a 2014 mare (Our Celebration—Grey Beth, Wekiva Springs) bred in Florida by Teresa Pierpont, ridden by Courtney Asdourian, a professional from Cockeysville, Maryland.
2. Tweeter in Chief, a 2015 gelding (Graydar—Bird Legacy, Mineshaft) bred in Kentucky by Marylou Whitney Stables, ridden by Buck Schott, a professional from Versailles, Kentucky.
3. Goldhunt, a 2013 mare (Dove Hunt—Dawaytogold, Candi's Gold) bred in Arkansas by Richard P. Hessee, ridden by Andrea Groubert, an amateur from Canfield, Ohio.
4. Hookedatfirstsite, a 2014 mare (Get Stormy—Cabin Fever, Unbridled Energy)
bred in Kentucky by Pope McLean, Marc McLean & Pope McLean Jr., ridden by Harry Caldwell, a junior from Taft, Tennessee.
5. Stature, a 2013 gelding (Repent—Bailar, Rhythm), bred in Illinois by Valerie L. Peterson, ridden by Frank Stubblefield III, a professional from North Judson, Indiana.
