The Germantown Charity Horse Show continued their 70th anniversary celebration with the second annual Horse Fair and Food Truck Festival on September 29, 2018. Exhibitors at this year’s event included: a jumping demonstration with Southern Blues Equestrian Center trainer McKrell Baier with riders Susan Atkins, Lexi Smith, Kendra Robson, and Taylor Hiatt.

Susan Walker, MFH and Huntsman, paraded the Longreen foxhounds, with Whipper-In Midge Ellison and sidesaddle riders representing “the field:” Brooke Ballenger, Kayla Benson, and Laura Lawson. The sidesaddle riders came back later for their own exhibition of riding and jumping sidesaddle.

Reyn Lehman demonstrated her “harmony horsemanship,” with ground work and riding – sans saddle and bridle.

The Memphis Mounted Police paraded their horses, ridden by Officers Michael Brown, Ozelle Tolles, and Markus Wallace.

The Memphis Polo Club demonstrated arena polo, with the Memphis players vying against the Clear Lake Farms team.

The culmination of the event were the fast-paced Racking Horses, with Roy Coln riding GCHS champion Miss Mississippi, Kayla Pattat riding Specks Mr Undertaker, Prudy Jacket riding Gooseberry Wine, and Richard Namishia on Bells Dynamic Coco.

Exhibitors lined the hill above the arena and food trucks provided a variety of fare for those attending. Dine One One had a clever truck design: it looks like an ambulance, complete with the medical logo on the door bearing a knife, fork, and spoon. There was also Fuel Café, La Guadalupana, Let’s Be Frank, MemPOPS and Parkers Water Ice.
