Caitlyn Massey competed at the USEF Dressage Seat Medal Finals, held in conjunction with the U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions, at Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, Illinois, August 21-26, 2018. Caitlyn and Zassafrass competed in the FEI Pony Team Test 2018 and Dressage Seat Equitation, placing fifth with a score of 83.000%. The pair scored 62.286% for 8th place in the Pony Team test.
The U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions showcases the top athletes and horses in 14 divisions including the USEF Dressage Seat Medal Finals, which highlights excellence in equitation. Youth riders qualify by placing first or second at the USDF/USEF Dressage Seat Medal Semi-finals held at the Regional Championships. The top two from each USDF region are invited to participate in the Finals. Caitlyn Massey finished fifth in the country in the 14 years and under division.
