Crossville, Tenn. – Budding landscapers, gardening enthusiasts, and everyone interested in plants were all invited to the Tenth Annual Fall Gardeners’ Festival on August 28, 2018 in Crossville, Tenn. Hosted by the University of Tennessee Plateau AgResearch and Education Center, this event is a fall favorite for many. UT experts, Cumberland County Master Gardeners, and nursery professionals were all in attendance to answer questions and share knowledge for growers, gardeners and landscape enthusiasts.
Educational workshops, exhibits, wagon tours of the facility, and an Ask-the-Expert area were all on the agenda. Workshop topics covered everything from daylilies, native trees, and vegetable trials to aquaponics.
Formal tours and educational seminars ran from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with snacks and lunch items available for purchase throughout the day.
In 2013 the UT Gardens, Crossville, became the third site in the UT Gardens’ statewide plant collection, which is now designated at the state’s official botanical garden.
The Cumberland County Master Gardeners Association is a program of the county’s UT Extension office. The Plateau AgResearch and Education Center is one of ten outdoor laboratories located throughout the state as part of the UT AgResearch system. Both UT Extension and UT AgResearch are part of the UT Institute of Agriculture.

She speaks internationally on a variety of horticulture topics and is a correspondent on the PBS television show, Growing A Greener World.
