New Veterinarian at Full Circle Equine

post-title

By Nancy Brannon, Ph.D.

Full Circle Equine Veterinary Services welcomes a new associate this month – Dr. Elaine Haw. She’s a Tennessee gal coming back home from Ocala, Florida! She has an educational background in agriculture business as well as veterinary medicine. We asked Dr. Haw about her planned more to the west Tennessee/north Mississippi area and her educational and veterinary experience.

“I earned a B.S. in Agriculture Business from the University of Tennessee at Martin and my Master of Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. I then went on to graduate from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and become an intern at Ocala Equine Hospital [Ocala, Florida]. My main professional interest is equine sports medicine. It is very satisfying to help the equine athlete perform at his best ability! But I also enjoy general equine medicine.

“I was raised on my parent’s large row-crop farm in northwest Tennessee. My parents gave me my first pony at four years old and I never stopped riding. I started showing at local saddle clubs, riding in every event that I could, from barrel racing to western pleasure. As a teenager, I started showing at AQHA shows in hunt seat flat classes. I eventually discovered the thrill of showing over fences, and now I show in the hunter and equitation classes on my home-bred horses.  Showing horses was, and still is, a family affair for me (especially with my mom and my sister). Through the years, I have earned many top honors, including All American Quarter Horse Congress Champion, along with numerous top five placings; top ten at the AQHA World show; and National year-end high point champion.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to be part of the amazing Full Circle Equine Services team located in an area that I have grown-up loving!”
