To find the perfect Thanksgiving dinner, look no further than Stewart Brothers Hardware in Ellendale, Tennessee. Thanksgiving dinner at a hardware store?! Absolutely! Ed and Jill Dempsey hosted a Thanksgiving dinner sampler on October 21, 2017 to tempt folks’ taste buds for a different kind of family dinner. Ed and Jill cooked everything on their Traeger grills, so the food was much more flavorful. Of course, you would expect to cook the turkey on a grill. Ed injected the one he cooked with a “buttermilk brine,” he said. In addition, Jill baked a mouth-watering pumpkin cheese cake; bread pudding, made from a recipe she found using Krispy Kreme donuts (it was not overly sweet); smoked potato salad; sweet potatoes; and green bean casserole – all cooked on the Traeger grill. For breakfast and appetizers, there were sausage and biscuits (even the biscuits are cooked on the grill) and Ed’s jalapeño sausage poppers.
