Brownland Farm Mid-South Classic

The last summer show at Brownland Farm in Franklin, Tenn. was the Mid-South Classic, July 5-9, 2017. It was preceded by the Brownland Farm Summer show, June 28-July 2. On par for the summer, the exhibitor parties at both shows included a 19-foot water slide. 

The $5,000 Hunter Derby was a prominent feature of both shows with Kelly Mullen, riding Sarah Ingram’s Hoylake, winning the stake at both shows.

Lauren Hester and Warinde B won the Mid-South Classic $25,000 Grand Prix, with Haley Gassel and Quite Dark 2 coming in second. The class drew 19 entries, with the top 12 placings getting a piece of the purse. In the $5,000 Welcome Stake, Lauren Hester also swept first and second on Warinde B and Lorstakov, respectively.

The NAL Low/Medium Jr./Amateur Owner Jumper Classic drew 11 entries, with Christopher Johnson on his Dutch Martini besting the rest.

In the NAL/WIHS Children’s Jumper Classic, Amelia Jenson aboard Richard Cheska’s Quick Tempo won the blue ribbon.
In the Pony classes, Hallie Rush on Bet I Can won the Green Pony Classic. Eliza Gallaher and Farnley Belisarius were second. Hannah Hoch and Havana won the Pony Classic, with Caroline Mirts and Entourage coming in second.

Deaton Ansley and Rides Like A Benz won the WASH/NAL Children’s Hunter Classic, with Rio Volar, ridden by Rebecca Wills, second.

Addison Bihm and Forever won the WASH/NAL Adult Hunter Classic, with Sarah Morris and Gidget placing second.

There were 16 entries in the Junior Hunter Classic 3’3”/3’6”, with Amelia Jenson and Vegas De Gravelotte placing first. Maggie Lewis and Autumn Glory were second, with Olivia Yukon and Levonworth third. Mary Ashley Bateman and Ultaire were fourth.

Kakki Wright and Camaraderie were Champions in Pre Adult and Modified Adult divisions. Her daughter Kali and Jack in the Box were Champion Children's Hunter Ponies.

In the Adult Amateur division, Sarah Morris and Gidget were Champion, with Lucy Heaton and HC San Patrignano as Reserve Champion.

The Brownland farm fall show series starts August 26-27, with shows in September and October, finishing with the Alabama H/J Association Year End Show in November.
