Saturday night Speed Racking Horse Grand Championship winner: Raven, Deterrio Rivers
On Saturday night, before crowning the Speed Racking Horse Champion for the show, Greg Roberts of Somerville, TN came into the arena to perform a song he had written specifically about racking horses: “3 Up, 1 Down,” aka the Official Racking Horse Theme Song, about the “single-footing” pace of the racking horse. Greg is a recording artist at Nitty Gritty GR Music, blending a style of country and rap he calls “hick hop,” and writing music specifically for the horse community. And, of course – he rides racking horses.
