The new dressage and combined training organization is up and running! Delta Dressage Association has transitioned to the Memphis Area Dressage and Eventing Society (MADES), with Kristen Harmon the new President.
“We want to see the sport grow and connect with everyone in the area. We’re so spread out now. We envision a connected web of professionals, adult amateurs, and young riders to develop a sense of community,” Harmon said about the goals of the new organization.
MADE held its first meeting March 28, 2017 and established new leadership and mission for the group. They also have a new logo. “We want to grow eventing in this area,” Harmon said. But first the group has to find appropriate cross country courses for schooling and clinics.
The group will have regular meetings and educational workshops on such topics as conformation, equine and rider first aid, and will hold eventing clinics. “We want to bring eventing back to the area,” Harmon said.
Currently, you can find more information about them on facebook and on their new website www.memphisdressage.org
