The Mid-South Quarter Horse Association (MSQHA) provided a fun alternative place to go on the weekend after Thanksgiving. Instead of fighting the holiday shopping crowds, the Quarter Horse folks were in Tunica, Miss. for their annual Turkey Circuit show on November 26-27, 2016. Show secretary Pat Kress said that there were over 1100 entries over the 2-day show, showing before four judges. “It’s a good sized show the weekend after Thanksgiving,” she said. This was the last show of the 2016 AQHA-Approved shows for MSQHA, so folks took full advantage of this last opportunity to earn points toward year-end awards.

Classes started early on Saturday morning, at 7:30 am and at 8:30 am on Sunday.  Judges were Johnathan Mueller, Scott Neumon, Leann Williams, and Allen Mitchell. Once again, the ever popular Flat Fee of $200 was a good deal for the competitors. In addition, the show offered Turkey Trot Rewards - $50 to the first, second, and last two placings in classes 58 Open All Age Walk/Trot, 74 Open HUS, and 98 Open Ranch Horse Riding. Competitors had to show both days to be eligible.

There were the usual halter classes, showmanship, horsemanship, Western Pleasure and Western Riding, Ranch Horse, Trail, and plenty of classes for the young set, including Small Fry. The full show bill is posted in the MSQHA website:
