The last weekend of the Mid-South Fair featured Lecile Harris’ Rodeo of the Mid-South, September 30 – October 1, 2016 at the Landers Center in Southaven, MS. This year marked the 160th anniversary of the Mid-South Fair, and another year partnering with Rodeo of the Mid-South. Since 2008, area rodeo fans have enjoyed Rodeo of the Mid-South as a part of the Mid-south Fair.

Collierville resident and Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame member Lecile Harris, along with Pete Carr Classic Pro Rodeo, staged two performances, with clown and funnyman Harris, a featured entertainer during the rodeo. Pro rodeo cowboys from throughout the US and Canada rode for cash prizes and points toward the top standings of Professional Rodeo. Along with the bull riders, bronc riders and steer wrestling, the ladies of the rodeo competed in barrel racing. These professional cowboys and cowgirls are coupled with the best of a Wild West show.

An attractive side light of the rodeo is the Rodeo of the Mid-South Queen Pageant, along with the adorable Teen, Princess and Sweethearts of the rodeo. Between the competitive events, the Coyote Run Drill Team wowed the crowds with their precision riding.
