West Tennessee Quarter Horse Association (WTQHA) brought in six judges for the Summer Circuit in Memphis, TN at the Show Place Arena, the last weekend in July (29-31), 2016. The show offered an added bonus: dual points to both WTQHA and Mid-South Quarter Horse Association (MSQHA) members. This was the second in the Summer Circuit series in which the two organizations earned points at each other’s shows. The earlier dual point show was the MSQHA show in Tunica on the 4th of July weekend (July 1-3, 2016)

Show secretary Pat Kress said entries were up from last year. “We have an average of 400 entries per judge, and we have six judges,” she said. “We had people from Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, and we have a lot of people from Texas showing here.”

Judges on Friday and Saturday were Bill Kaven, Rob Meneely, and Tom Robertson. Judges on Saturday and Sunday were Jessica Giliam, Jess Herd, and Tom McBeath. For the exhibitors’ convenience, this show offered a Flat Rate of $375 for one horse, one stall, 6 judges entry fees, and drug fees.

WTQHA will finish out their show season in Martin, TN with the “no bling” Hot to Trot Circuit on August 13-14, 2016. MSQHA has two more shows this season: the Cotton Bowl show, September 23-25 and the Turkey Circuit, November 25-27, 2016, both at the Tunica, MS Expo Center.
