The University of Tennessee Extension held the Western Region 4-H horse-judging contest on April 14, 2016 at Triple P Arena in Decaturville, Tennessee. Tipton County 4-Hers were hard at work for months in preparation for this contest, and their hard work paid off.
During the competition 4-Hers were challenged with five classes of horses to judge. Those classes consisted of halter mares and geldings, western pleasure, western horsemanship, and hunter under saddle.
The Tipton County senior team secured 2nd place in the region. That team consisted of Fallon Fogarty, Grace Looney, and Julia Crow. In addition to the 2nd team placing Fallon was 4th top individual, followed by Grace in 8th place, and Julia at 20th.
4-H is part of the University of Tennessee Extension, and is a community of young people across Tennessee who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
