Companies and organizations seeking talented team players should reserve a spot now for the United States Equestrian Federation Careers Fair to be held Friday, May 6, during the 44th Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) National Championships, May 5-8, at the Alltech Arena of the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. Both events are free and open to the public.
“The United States Equestrian Federation Career Fair will be held in conjunction with the IHSA National Championships, an event which will host over 500 college equestrians and their coaches, families, and friends. The career fair is an opportunity for students to be introduced to successful businesses within the equine industry and create avenues for relationships, internships, and career connections. These are students who come from a wide variety of backgrounds and majors ranging from Business Management, Communications or Chemistry,” said Natalie Norwood with the USEF main office at KHP.
To secure a USEF Career Fair booth in the Alltech Arena at the IHSA National Championships contact Norwood (859) 225-6951, nnorwood@usef.org or Joyce Hamblin, (859) 225-6939, jhamblin@usef.org. A minimal $50 fee will be charged to secure a booth and chairs. USEF Career Fair door prizes, gifts and coupons will be raffled at the conclusion of the event.
“Be sure to update your resume and practice your interviewing skills,” Norwood advises student riders. “Bring copies of your resume to share with groups you are interested in working with through internships or post-graduation employment.”
Sponsorship opportunities with the IHSA Nationals and 50th Golden Anniversary tour are available starting at $150 to underwrite an IHSA National Championship class. Call toll-free (844) 307-4472. IHSA promotes competition for riders of all skill levels, who compete individually and as teams at regional to national levels, based on the principle that any college student should be able to participate in horse shows regardless of financial status or riding level.
