The third show in the Megford Horse Shows series was held August 26-27 at the Germantown Charity Horse Show arena in Germantown, TN. Showers throughout Saturday did not dampen the spirits of the riders young and old. Indeed most appreciated the break in the summer’s heat and the relief from one of the worst droughts on record. The footing at the Germantown Charity Arena is excellent wet or dry and the course designs were well executed. The jumper classes were held on Friday evening, along with the fun classes.
MegFord is hosting four shows this year: in March, June August and November. This is part of the 2012 schooling show series that also includes The Oak View Stables and Longreen shows, held at Oak View stables, and the Hunters Edge Stables shows held at Hunters Edge Stables. Points are accumulated at all of the shows in the series for year-end awards. There is also a $1000 trainer’s award divided among the top three trainers who participate with students in the August and November Megford shows. Even the fun classes accumulate year-end awards!
