Turkey Trot Dressage Show

The Mid-South Dressage Academy (MSDA) in Hernando, MS hosted the 2011 USDF/USEF Turkey Trot Dressage recognized show on November 19-20. Horses, riders, and venue were groomed and polished to perfection for two days of dressage at the beautiful facilities at Clifton Farms. The judge was Fran Dearing (S) from Texas, and the Technical Delegate was Joe Coleman. Scribe was Anna Speer of MSDA.

Indeed, the audience for the Intermediate, Prix St. Georges and Grand Prix classes was so large that it drew comments from the Judge Fran Dearing, saying she was astounded at the number of spectators that filled the observation deck! Commenting after the last ride on Saturday, “Everyone please stay in place. I have to get a picture of this. Who said Dressage is not a spectator sport?”

There were 66 rides and over 40 entries. Nina Warren of Franklin, TN clinched her USDF Gold medal in the Grand Prix on her horse Neodymion (Neil) with a score of 66.383%. Ally Rogers was second with Scrabble with 65.319%.

Ally Rogers won Third Level Test 3 on Samwise Gamgee with 73.846%. Karen Raber won Adult Amateur Prix St. Georges on Silvester with 68.421% and Intermediate I with 66.316%. Galina Sukhoveyenko was second in Open Prix St. Georges on Shi Royz with 64.474%.
