Twisting the spine is another great exercise to keep the spine supple. It is also beneficial to be able to turn your upper body from your waistline for riding circles. Remember, as with any exercise program, please be sure you check with your doctor to be sure it is safe to do so. Be careful if you have a bad back, twisting could not be good for you!
Have fun, and keep me posted on my blog: http://janicedulak.posterous.com/
Step 1: Standing with your back against a counter, place both hips and waistline on the edge of the counter. You will need to pull your stomach in and keep your knees bent. Engage your buns as you learned in April’s lesson.
Cross your arms over your chest. [Photo 1]
Step 2: Pulling your stomach in and up, turn your torso to the right. When doing this, be sure your waistline stays on the edge of the counter. [Photo2]
Step 3: Exhale and return to center. Repeat 3 to 5 times each side.
Be sure to keep your stomach pulled in and your buns tight when you are doing this exercise to keep your back protected. Also be sure you twist from the
waistline up!
See you next month!
