Every year Rollingwoods Farm and Nashoba Carriage Association hold an Introduction to Driving Clinic, led by Joanna Wilburn and Sally Ross Davis. This year’s clinic was March 19, from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon at Rollingwoods Farm in Olive Branch MS. The free clinic is designed to promote Carriage Driving.
Sally Ross Davis specializes in breaking driving ponies, while Joanna Wilburn specializes in teaching people to drive. Together they offer a wide spectrum of information from breaking and selecting the driving pony to how to actually drive a pony. The clinic covers harnessing, types of carriages, and horses/ponies that pull them, and then participants get hands-on driving under the supervision of experienced drivers. Several members of the Nashoba Carriage Club were on hand with their carriage and pony/horse to allow newcomers the opportunity to drive.
