WTHJA Tennessee Classic
West Tennessee Hunter Jumper Association hosted its forth AA rated show in the Hospitality Circuit, the Tennessee Hunter Jumper Classic, September 1-5 at the Germantown Charity Horse Show arena in Germantown, TN. All five of this year’s shows have several special classes as well as double points for all WTHJA members. A highlight of this show was the $2500 1.20m Jumper Classic, won by Bryan Dietz of Little Rock, AR riding Diamond Elle. Bryan is coached by Dave Pellegrini.

Hunters Edge Schooling Show Hunter’s Edge Stables, at 5366 Forest Hill-Irene Road, Memphis, TN, welcomed riders from numerous area stables to its fall schooling show September 18 for show experience in a relaxed atmosphere. The courses were well-planned and inviting, particularly good for horses ready to move up divisions. Following the WTHJA Tennessee Classic and Alderwood shows, and preceding the West Tennessee Pony Club show, this show filled out the month of Saturday shows for local hunter/jumper riders. For more information on Hunter’s Edge Stables and head trainer, Beanie Cone of Germantown, TN, Visit: http://www.huntersedgestables.com/ WTPC Annual Fundraiser Horse Show by Tracey Blair On September 24 & 25 at the Germantown Charity Horse Show arena, West Tennessee Pony Club (WTPC) held its annual fundraiser horse show. Run almost entirely by volunteers, the club members, their parents, families, and friends all pitched in to make the show a success. Unique to this horse show and a crowd favorite are the Friday night fun classes: pairs, tandem jumping, gambler's choice and, the most popular event, “Ride a Buck.” Riders enter the ring riding bareback, with a dollar bill placed under the calf of each of the rider’s legs. As music plays, riders begin at walk, progress to trot, and continue to various canter requests. When a rider looses both their dollar bills, they join other riders who have lost their bills. The last rider with a dollar bill under his/her legs wins all the dollars! The second day of the show was a beautiful, warm fall day. Saturday's classes followed the traditional hunter jumper schedule, with Alderwood points being awarded to the class winners. United States Pony Club is an international organization that is open to youth riders up to age 25. WTPC is involved in many horse-related activities, including horse care workshops, fox hunting, show jumping, dressage, eventing, vaulting, knowledge bowls, sleep-overs and swimming with horses, rating standards, regional rally competitions at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY and many other fun activities. WTPC holds regular meetings at various private and public facilities around the Mid-South area.
