Racing Kentucky Downs Guest Jockey Calvin Borel Kentucky Downs’ brief September 2009 live racing season featured famed Kentucky Derby Jockey Calvin Borel. He met fans and rode in a number of turf races at the Franklin, KY track on September 19th. Calvin rode two of the Triple Crown winners this year: Mine That Bird, winner off the Kentucky Derby, and Rachel Alexandra, winner of the Preakness. In addition to the exciting races, there was live music featured all day, including a free concert by Nashville singer-songwriter Jeffrey Steele.
