Why We’re Selling the Farm Circumstances have forced Emily and Brad to change their dream of owning a horse farm By Becky Henley A short time ago Brad and Emily Bibb bought 25 beautiful acres on Sides Drive, near Highways 57 and 76 in Fayette County. Brad is an electrician and Emily is a physical therapy assistant, but both love the country way of life n horses, growing things, and the great outdoors. Their dream of a future horse farm and plenty of room to raise their two little girls began with lots of hard work on their acreage, clearing land for a house site, building fences to keep their horses, and then building a barn for the horses and a house for the family. The house is a rustic 2700 square foot one story home with scored and stained concrete floors throughout an open floor plan. The Bibbs designed their home to be energy efficient, using a Hardy outdoor wood burning stove, cellulose insulation, and double pane windows. Behind the house is a pretty pond and woods with trails. There are 13 acres fenced and cross-fenced for the horses. Circumstances have forced Emily and Brad to change their dream of owning a horse farm, circumstances that are so familiar to people all over America. Brad lost his job and Emily’s hours have been cut back, so paying the bills has been a real challenge. They’ve never missed a house payment, and they give God all the thanks for that. The Bibbs are members of Fisherville Baptist Church, and their love for the Lord is predominant in their lives. They know God has provided for their needs so far. Their great faith has convinced them that God is now calling them to go to the mission field…near or far, and they are waiting on God’s timing to sell the farm. Sometimes dreams just have to change.
