Delta Dressage in Tunica May 2-3 It is said that into every life a little rain must fall and scheduling a spring horse show is gamble on whether or not it will rain. The show planners at Delta Dressage Association knew that a spring dressage show in the Delta could easily call for a movement such as enter at A and swim to X. So they hedged their bets on the weather by holding the show in the indoor arena at the Tunica Arena and Exposition Center, where both the warm up area and barns are all under roof. Sure enough, the show dates of May 2 and 3 turned out to be quite wet outside, but not on the exhibitors indoors. The May 2-3 show was an official Qualifying Competition for the 2009 FEI North American Junior and Young Riders Championships and the 2009 USEF National Junior, Young Rider and Brentina Cup Championships. It was also an official qualifying competition for the Markel/USEF Young Horse Dressage Program and USEF National Developing Horse Dressage Championship. Needless to say, every horse and rider was impeccably turned out. The show well planned and executed, and show contestants came from near and far. The judging from Maryal Barnett (S) MI and Janet M. Curtis (S) CA seemed to be very helpful. It was a show that all could enjoy.
