Oak Grove Hunter Pace Results April 5 at Blackwater Ranch Some 51 riders, ranging in age from 7 to 75 and riding all types of horses and ponies, took part in the Oak Grove Hunter Pace on April 5 at Blackwater Ranch near Holly Springs, Mississippi. The event included music by The Steamboat Strummers, a fried chicken and bar-b-que dinner on the grounds, and a champagne stop was provided mid-course, all under sunny skies with a temperature in the mid-70's. Results from the timed trail ride were: 1st place - "The Hickory Travellers" - Janet Hawken and Charlie Cober; 2nd place - "Team Spirit" - Lori and Sara Niemi; 3rd place - "We Made It!" - Barbara and Evan Henking, and Shanleigh Caillin. Turtles - "English Country Ladies" - Ann Frost, Madison Vawter, Kasey Smith. Fastest - Marilyn Hiner and Amy Vickery. Best Western Attire - Brynda & Ron Read, and Charlie Cober Most Team Spirit - Lori and Sara Niemi Most Helpful Team - "The Armadillos" - Peggy Hart, Joyce McKibbon, and Deanna Bernstien.
