Amy Wood And Little Beau Turp Win Reserve Champion At AQHA World Show 2007 has been a productive year for pole bender Amy Wood of Scotts Hill, Tennessee and her 15 year-old mare, Little Beau Turp. Amy and her husband, Sam, raised and trained the sorrel mare and have seen her win many times while competing in barrels and pole bending. Amy’s love is pole bending and that is where the pair made their mark in 2007. The year started out with a bang in January when the pair won the pole bending event at the Cowboy Publishing Timed Event Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. That was quickly followed by a win in February at the 5th Annual Good Times Futurity in Memphis. In May she defended her 2006 National Pole Bending Association Championship but was nosed out and was named Reserve Champion. Amy and her mare captured Reserve Championships at The All American Quarter Horse Congress in October and at the AQHA World Championship Show in November. The next issue of the Mid-South Horse Review will feature additional information on the Wood family and their horses.
